For an upcoming short film directed by Naomi Pacifique, we are casting the profiles below.
More information about the project :
Logline : Having just moved to Amsterdam, Lou prepares her new apartment that she will share with her partner, Joel. For now though, Joel is on a trip with another intimate partner. Confronted with the complexities of her non-monogamous relationship, Lou shifts her gaze to the rhythms of her new city.
Secondary roles
“Yannick”
Age: between 22-35 years old / male
Description: we are looking for a man to play the secondary role of the film. He is the love interest of the protagonist and appears in two scenes of the film.
Small roles
“Customer bookstore”
Age: between 40-55 years old / male
Description: appears in one scene reading a book în the bookstore, as a customer. A page of dialogue occurs between him and the protagonist in the store.
“Couple bookstore”
Age: between 25-30 years old / male - female
Description: appears in one scene în a bookstore. They both engage în a dialogue with the protagonist.
“Androgynous girl”
Age: between 20-35 years old / female
Description: a young woman is ordering herring from a caravane in a square in Amsterdam. She is talking to the seller, an older woman, în Dutch. Later on she is seen eating the food în the same square.
“Haring lady”
Age: between 35-60 years old / female
Description: appears in one scene selling haring to customers and to the main character. A short dialogue takes place between the two.
“Camilla and Cristine, couple”
Age: between 20-25 years old / female-female
Description: two young women are cuddled in an alley at sunrise in Amsterdam. They are giggling and having a conversation.
“Urinating man”
Age: between 25-50 years old / male
Description: In one scene, the man appears urinating at one of Amsterdam’s city’s urinals while talking to a friend.
“ Friend of urinating man”
Age: between 25-50 years old / male
Description: In one scene, the man appears talking to his urinating friend, at one of Amsterdam’s city’s urinals.
“Dog owner 1 & dog”
Age: between 25-40 years old / male
Description: In one scene, the dog owner runs to get his dog and excuses himself to a man using the urinal in one of Amsterdam’s streets, as the dog sniffles him.
“Dog owner 2 & dog”
Age: between 25-40 years old / male
Description: In one scene, the dog owner runs after his dog on the street, as he runs around sniffing trees, and passing an urinal.
“Elderly lady”
Age: between 60-85 years old / female
Description: In one scene, the elderly lady eats her haring în the street, as the protagonist watches her enjoy the meal.
“Peeing man”
Age: between 25-45 years old / male
Description: In one scene, the man appears urinating against a canal side house. He is singing to himself while a toddler sees him and they both giggle.
“Toddler mum” and “Toddler” (1)
Age: female between 25-40 years old / Infant – 4 years old / female-female
Description: we are looking for a mother and her child who are interested in participating in our short artistic film. In the scene, the mother is putting lotion on her toddler while they are laughing, being watched through the window by another woman on the street.
Cyclist
Age: between 25-40 years old / male
Description: the cyclist appears in one scene, almost crashing into someone on the street
“Kissing couple”
Age: between 20-35 years old / female - male
Description: the couple appear in one scene, passionately kissing on the streets of Amsterdam
“Toddler mum” and “Toddler” (2)
Age: female between 25-40 years old / Infant – 3/4 years old / female-female
Description: we are looking for a mother and her child who are interested in participating in our short artistic film. In the scene, the toddler is looking at a man that is peeing on the street and she laughs. The mother tells her not to look and pulls her away.
“Worker lamp store”
Age: between 30-50 years old / male female
Description: a worker at a lamp store is showing a customer how to turn a lamp on and off.
“Toddler mum” and “Toddler” (3)
Age: female between 25-40 years old / Infant – 3/4 years old / female-female
Description: we are looking for a mother and her child who are interested in participating in our short artistic film. In the scene, the toddler is spinning and spinning around a square în the city. She stumbles on the ground and runs to the protagonist where they interact for a bit. The toddler’s mum comes to take her away.
“House occupant”
Age: between 25-40 years old / female
Description: The protagonist looks at herself în the window of a house in Amsterdam, the light is switched on from inside and a woman is seen în the apartament.
Extras
We are also looking for extras to contribute to our project of varying ages and backgrounds. The film will be shot în multiple locations in Amsterdam and we are looking for people to play extras in the background.
Draaidagen: The shooting will take place in various locations in central Amsterdam, in October 2023 (the specific dates are still TBD).
This is a co-production between the Netherlands and Switzerland.
Vergoeding:
The participation in the project is paid (fees depending on the role) and meals included.
